Ilmy Notes

Rules of 5 Accusative Particles (الحروف الناصبة)

(1) ِAn - That  (2) Lan - Will not/never  (3) Kay - In order to/because
(4) Idhan - Then  (5) Li - In order to (Laam of Explanation)

All verbs after these particles take a Fat'ha as their I`raab (last letter) and are therefore in the state of Nasab and are called Mansoob.
2 RULES

To describe the verb which comes after any of these 5 particles, we say this in Arabic:
فعل مضارع منصوب بالفتحة
Fi`l mudare` mansoob bil-fath'ha
"It is a present tense verb in a Mansoob state because of (with) the Fat'ha"

EXAMPLES

And now you know that these 5 particles make the next verb accusative. Yayy!
